A local resident approached us about starting a cryptocurrency mining pool. Intrigued by the challenge, we set up a server that synchronises the Monero blockchain and presents it as public remote node for everyone to use. Next, we compiled an open-source pool software, configured the pool, set up a pool wallet and made the pool available via plain and SSL ports. People from all over north America have since joined the mining pool. We also created a website that pulls and caches current mining pool statistics and presents that data via a global content delivery network for best performance.
